Tim thumped his head against the desk, willing his tired mind to connect the dots. The Riddler had left them fourteen clues over three weeks in the personal ads of the newspaper. Batman had entrusted him with figuring six of the fourteen. So far, he’d gotten three. Battling the Riddle always hurt his brain.
A shadow passed over his desk. Tim snapped his head up, staring face to face with a card and flowers, floating in mid-air. With a small smile, he turned around, throwing one arm over the back of his chair. “What do you think you’re doing?”
Kon drifted down from where he’d been hiding near the ceiling. “Giving you a break from work.”
Tim snorted. “Did I miss a birthday or something?”
“Do I need an excuse to tell you I love you?” Kon closed his eyes, puckering his lips. Tim shook his head but met Kon’s lips for a brief kiss. A warm pair of hands crept over his chest, fingers slipping in the seam of his tunic.
Tim swatted the hands away. “Hey, I’m working!”
“All work and no Kon makes Tim a dull Robin.” Using his TTK, Kon lifted one of the flowers out of it’s vase, floating towards his face. He caught it in his teeth, righting himself and dragging Tim out of his chair. “Lesh Dansh” he said around the stem.
Tim groaned but wrapped his arms around Kon’s neck anyways. “Love you too, idiot.”
